Hi,
I am using amaroK with the xine backend, but how do I get amarok to directly play CD's ? I have tried the audiocd:/ kioslave, but although I can add files to the playlist, nothing happens when I press the play button. Is this because xine does not know about kioslaves - xine is not a KDE application ? This does not pose a problem for kaffeine, a frontend for xine which I am currently using for playing CDs (and digital video). Or am I doing something wrong here ? By the way, I am using amarok 1.1 beta 1. With kind regards, Pieter. |

In my previous post, I wrote:

That was a bit of a stupid remark: kaffeine does not acces the CD through the audiocd:/ kioslave but lets xine access the CD directly. I understand amarok is not a CD player, but it would be handy if it could play them (through xine). I know that another option would be to use arts as a backend ... that works but every few seconds the music stops / drops off. With kind regards, Pieter. |
