Hi, I just installed amarok from rpms provided by Mandrake Club, when I runs amarok:

amarok: Symbol `_ZTI7QWidget' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
[amaroK loader] connecting to /home/claudio/.kde//socket-demolidor/amarok.loader_socket
[amaroK loader] amaroK not running. Trying to start it..
amarokapp: Symbol `_ZTI7QPixmap' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
amarokapp: Symbol `_ZTI7QWidget' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
amarokapp: Symbol `_ZTI12KApplication' has different size in shared object, consider re-linking
QMetaObject::findSignal:CollectionView: Conflict with QListView::doubleClicked(QListViewItem*,const QPoint&,int)
[amaroK loader] startup successful.
[amaroK loader] exiting.

But when I try to play any mp3 or ogg, the amarok console prints:

(process:3186): GLib-WARNING **: Priorities can only be increased by root.

How can I solve this ?

Thank you.

Just ignore this warning, it has no impact.

But, the music is not played. The music progress bar doesn't move, even if I click and move the progress bar indicator goes back to the begining of the progress bar. I don't hear any sound.

If I use Juk, Zinf or RealPlayer the musics are played.

humm, I noticed something new. I the play is pressed again, I see this on console:

process:2074): GStreamer-WARNING **: element thread claimed state-change success, but state didn't change to PLAYING. State is PAUSED (NONE_PENDING pending), fix the element

Oh, after installing amarok, I run gst-register. (is there any difference between gst-register and gst-register-0.8 ?)

Thanks for your assist.

You probably forgot to install the plugins for mp3 and ogg. Also make sure you're running the latest gst and gst-plugins versions.
