amaroK and $HOME and NFS and sqlite

Wed Sep 01, 2004 4:07 pm
Hi,

my $HOME is mounted via NFS. If I start amaroK 1.0.2 I always get "database is locked" errors. I searched the Internet and it seems to be a sqlite/NFS problem. They advice one not to put a database in a folder mounted via NFS.
If I move $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok to a local folder and put a symlink to it, everything works great.

Now my questions:
- Will it once be configurable where the database lies?
- Will there once be used additional SQL databases (e.g. mysql)?

Regards,
Andreas

SQLite simply does not work on NFS. That\'s not amaroK\'s fault.

You can either link your ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok folder to some non-NFS drive, or use MySQL instead.
