Hello there,
i have compiled the cvs-version auf amarok without any problem or warning on my Yoper 2.1 Computer with KDE 3.3. When i start it it works fine. I can hear my mp3s when i add on to the playlist. But when i start to scan the folders nothing happends. It is running till 100% and no songs ard added. When i run it under the console and than i start the scan he gives me many errors like this: error: amarok: ERROR: file is encrypted or is not a database amarok: ERROR: on query: INSERT INTO artist_temp ( name ) VALUES ( 'Rammstein' ); amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: What does it mean? Bevor i installed the CVS-Version i have used the stable without any Problems to scan the folders. Ciao Christof, sorry for my bad english |

We've recently upgraded from sqlite2 to sqlite3, so the database format has changed. Do this: rm ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db restart amarok

thanks. Now it works.
But there is now a little other Problem. The german umlauts like ä, ö, ü doesn't work. He shows me other special character. An because of that, i can not add these songs to the playlist. Ciao Christof |

I am having the same problem. if i follow your instruction rm ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db I can scan folders, but as soon as I add music to the collection i have to rm ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db and rescan the folders.

Also have a similar problem.
Using Mandrake 10.0, and installed amarok-1.1-1mdk.i586.rpm from Cooker When starting amarok from the terminal I get the message: amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: tags amarok: ERROR: on query: SELECT COUNT( url ) FROM tags LIMIT 0, 1; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: tags amarok: ERROR: on query: SELECT COUNT( url ) FROM tags LIMIT 0, 1; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: tags amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE tags; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: album amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE album; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: artist amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE artist; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: genre amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE genre; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: year amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE year; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: no such table: images amarok: ERROR: on query: DROP TABLE images; amarok: ERROR: [bool CollectionDB::execSql(const QString&, QStringList*, QStringList*, bool)] [CollectionDB] sqlite3_compile error: amarok: ERROR: table directories already exists amarok: ERROR: on query: CREATE TABLE directories (dir VARCHAR(100) UNIQUE,changedate INTEGER ); QMetaObject::findSignal:CollectionView: Conflict with QListView::doubleClicked(QListViewItem*,const QPoint&,int) QMetaObject::findSignal:KListView: Conflict with QListView::doubleClicked(QListViewItem*,const QPoint&,int) [amaroK loader] startup successful. [amaroK loader] exiting. And whenever I scan more than than a few folders of mp3 files, amarok crashes with the message: amarok: relocation error: amarok: symbol _ZNSt15_List_node_base4hookEPS_, version GLIBCXX_3.4 not defined in file libstdc++.so.6 with link time reference To try and get round such problems, I've installed taglib-1.3 and sqlite-3.0.7 from source, but still no luck. Also tried removing files and restarting, but still no joy. rm ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection.db rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc What should I try next? Had amarok-1.0.2-3mdk.i586.rpm working perfectly on sqlite2, so presume the problem lies with sqlite3 |

Following on from previous message:
Think the problem is with libstdc++6-3.4.0-0.4mdk.i586.rpm Installed Easytag and had a similar message about libstdc++.so.6. So I uninstalled the libstdc++6-3.4.0-0.4mdk.i586.rpm, uninstalled amaroK 1.1, and went back to amarok-1.0.1-0.1mdk.i586.rpm, which doesn't require libstdc++.so.6, with partial success. Can scan folders and compile playlists quite happily, but no sound, as the only choices are gStreamer and aRts, and I've got Xine. Any ideas? |

Just to say I've eventually managed to get amaroK 1.1.1 working on Mandrake 10.0. Hurrah! Had to take the drastic measure of reinstalling Mandrake 10.0. Also had to download various cutting edge rpms for Xine, Gstreamer, taglib (I cannot remember the entire list), and when all of these were in place, amaroK compiled beautifully. It's taken a long time, with much frustration, but it's worth it. My undoing previosuly was to compile sqlite from source, which wouldn't 'make uninstall'.

Wow, that's a lot of work. Why I'm glad I don't use a binary distro.
