Amarok works fine for me but i cant play mp3s. This is because when compiling gst-plugin it wont compile the mad plugin. Ive tried lots of things like installing libmad seperatly and diff command line arguments but it just wont compile it in. Is there any reason why it cant or wont compile this much needed plugin for me?

Installing libmad and libmad-devel should suffice. Consult #gstreamer on irc.freenode.net for further help.

Alternatively GStreamer can use ffmpeg for mp3 decoding. It is said to be of higher quality even than mad; so this could be an attractive option for you.

Got it working i needed the libid3tag package. Works great now! :laugh:
