I have compiled amaroK on Debian with KDE 3.2.3 and GStreamer 0.8.4. Every once in a while playback stops (though amaroK does not hang.) This happens, for instance, when I pause, and then tries to resume playing. Once this has happened, amaroK will not play any song, until I close it, use another player (Xmms) to play something, and then re-launch amaroK.

If you need more information, please let me know how to produce it (debug flgas, logs etc.)

Pause mode with GStreamer-engine has trouble on some systems. I'm trying to find a fix for 1.1.1. To my knowledge this issue does not surface when using osssink, so you might try switching.
