I think I know what the problem is, regarding empty audiocd folder. Has to do with canDecode(), I think. Will look into it later.

Yup, I was right. Empty audiocd folders was due to canDecode(), which we call in the file-browser to determine valid filetypes. It's fixed now. I'm listening to a CD right now
Just drag the WAVs into the playlist and hit play. Will work with GStreamer-engine and probably also with aRts, but not with xine, as xine-engine does not yet support KIO.

Well in that case I apologise for implying the audio cd kio slave was broken! I suck..

Hello
I downloaded and installed the CVS Amarok...superb script, it would have taken me ages without that help. Your fix works as you said it would, and the playback seems to be better for it (I think). Here's what happens now: - add two Wav files to the playlist, start playing the first no problems. - click on "next track" button, and Amarok seems to have a problem and has to be killed. Here's what output I could find: amarok: [virtual void LoaderServer::newConnection(int)] amarok: Received: STARTUP (8 bytes) GstEngine::property( "StreamingMode" ) failed: property invalid or does not exist amarok: [Gst-Engine] Loading url: audiocd:/Wav/Various%20Artists%20-%20Bj%C3%B6rk%20-%20Human%20Behaviour.wav amarok: [InputPipeline::InputPipeline()] amarok: [void gst_streamsrc_base_init(void*)] amarok: [void gst_streamsrc_class_init(GstStreamSrcClass*)] amarok: [void gst_streamsrc_init(GstStreamSrc*)] amarok: [virtual bool GstEngine::play(unsigned int)] amarok: Using this url: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/similar/ amarok: amarok: artists retrieved amarok: [Gst-Engine] Fade-in finished. amarok: Gst-Engine: SUSPENDING kio transfer. GstEngine::property( "StreamingMode" ) failed: property invalid or does not exist amarok: [Gst-Engine] Loading url: audiocd:/Wav/Various%20Artists%20-%20Bob%20Dylan%20-%20Like%20A%20Rolling%20Stone.wav amarok: [InputPipeline::InputPipeline()] amarok: [void gst_streamsrc_init(GstStreamSrc*)] amarok: [virtual bool GstEngine::play(unsigned int)] amarok: Using this url: http://www.audioscrobbler.com/similar/ amarok: amarok: artists retrieved amarok: [static void GstEngine::inputError_cb(GstElement*, GstElement*, GError*, gchar*, void*)] amarok: [static void GstEngine::eos_cb(GstElement*, GstElement*)] amarok: [void GstEngine::handleInputError()] amarok: ERROR: An input bin has signaled an error condition, destroying. amarok: [void GstEngine::destroyInput(InputPipeline*)] amarok: [Gst-Engine] Destroying input pipeline. amarok: BEGIN [InputPipeline::~InputPipeline()] amarok: Destroying input bin. Hopefully that makes some sense! I'm sorry I can't be more useful. The program really seems to be progressing well, so from me thank you very much. It makes linux a whole lot more friendly. I know I could just rip my CD's, but I can't really put them all on this computer (belongs to my boss). Cheers again, Charlie |
