When i try to 'Play Audio CD' from Amarok 1.1.1 I got:
Could not start process Unable to create io-slave: klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'audiocd'.

The problem turned out I didn't have: kdemultimedia-kio-plugins installed.

Could you please add more information to the error messeges (for example: "Did you install kdemultimedia-kio-plugins?") to help others?
