Hi
Two little problems, possibly inter-related: Using Gentoo, installed amarok-1.1.1. I've added music to the library and amarok is incorrectly parsing ogg file tags. Ogg files grouped under Artist are actually grouped by track number - i.e. grouping by artists results in 01, 02, 03 under which each ogg file with that track number is listed. Second problem is I'm using arts engine (no xine engine present - can recompile with if it's likely to solve problem) and I can play MP3s fine, however when I attempt to play an ogg file amarok tries to use GST and fails. [code:1]amarok: [InputPipeline::InputPipeline()] amarok: [virtual bool GstEngine::play(uint)] (process:794): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gvaluetypes.c: line 810 (g_value_get_pointer): assertion `G_VALUE_HOLDS_POINTER (value)' failed (process:794): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: file gstdata.c: line 185 (gst_data_ref): assertion `data != NULL' failed[/code:1] Any ideas? I can provide software versions etc if requested! Thanks Ali |

*bows head in shame*
I changed over from running music over Samba (it had issues) to NFS and after recompiling with xine engine it quite helpfully told me it couldn't find the files specified. I didn't have permissions to read them and hence Amarok hadn't been able to read tags and guessed from filename! Doh! All fixed - congratulations on the coolest music player ever! |
