If the mad plug-in is included in the gstreamer source code then that shouldn\'t be necessary. I\'ll just run the parameter that calls the mad plug-in to be compiled.

Installing amaroK from the latest CVS Snapshot seems to have fixed the problem.. there must be a memory leak of some sort in the 1.2 beta 2... you can read about the CVS Snapshot here: http://amarok.kde.org/content/view/14/2#snapshot

You can get a shell script that will automatically get and install the latest CVS Snapshot of amaroK here: http://amarok.sf.net/download/scripts/get-amarok-cvs.sh

Once you download that, all you have to do is browse to the directory of that file in the Konsole, and then (not as root/su) type:

sh get-amarok-cvs.sh
