try to play a file from the shell with \"artsplay foobar.mp3\".
do you hear something? regards, muesli |

nope..
it says: Can\'t connect to sound server the reason i use aRts is that the options i have are: gstreamer engine: when i choose that, it says: gstreamer is missing a registry. make sure u got all the plugins installed (like ogg and mp3) and run \"gst-register\" afterwards. i checked and did what they said, doesn\'t work. aRts engine looks alright, amarok can play, just can\'t make me hear the music.. xine engine when i choose this one amarok exits without saying a word.. |

I had this problem with amaroK 1.0.2. Upgrading to 1.1.1 fixed it.
