Hi.
My dude is not exactly about amarok. I use amarok, it\'s the best player I know. I use KDE 3.3.2 in SuSE 9.2. I read that arts it\'s not a good daemon sound. And I decided to use other method. I used ESD and it was worked, I can use various applications and the control of volume was independent (Kplayer, amarok). But I read a message in kde forum, it adviced to use dmix. And I\'ll configure dmix (with a little of problems). Actually, I can play various applications (mplayer, kplayer, amarok) with dmix but I have one problem: the control of volume isn\'t independent. Is there any mode with dmix to have a control of volume for each application? I\'m very grateful if someone can help me. I\'m sorry if the topic of the message isn\'t correct in this forum. Thanks. |

amaroK lets you not use the \'hardware\' volume control, I think thats what you want. Its there in the option. I wouldn\'t think dmix would make any difference.
esd has the same shortcomings as artsd, BTW.

Thanks.
I don\'t use the hardware control, amarok only changes the volume of amarok. The problem is with Kplayer and mplayer. By your message, I suppose your recommend dmix and alsa about arts or esd, no? |
