I have a *lot* of files which has id3v2 with tags in CP1251 encoding.
Yes, i know it is non-standard, but noone seems to care about it, and not I have tagged them So i have to 1) Fix amaroK/taglib to show their tags correctly, or 2) Recode cp1251 tags to unicode ones. How possible would be 1)? And, do anyone know any program capable to dealing with unicode ID3v2 tags? I.E. to read tags in LOCALE encogind, and write them down into files in unicode, marking them somehow to make apps be able to recognise they are unicode? I have searched but found no f!cking any program that is aware about unicode in id3v2. No one at all. |

So my amaroK playlist looks like:
ID3v1 shown correctly, but ID3v2, as you see... And 99,9% of mp3\'s with ID3v2 will be such - with cp1251 in tags. So do anyone know workaroud or at least any program to convert tags to unicode? |

Even more, ID3v2 unicode tagging is broken, too.
I right-clicked file with incorrectly displayed tags, picked \"Metadata\" and edited tags, replacing garbage with correct russian text. Saved it. And that file, according to id3v2 console utility, ceased to have id3v2 tag, and if i open it with rhythmbox or amaroK, it displays some more weird letters as tags, which have nothing in common with what i have written. I have locale of ru_RU.KOI8-R. Please, check metadata writing for such locale, \'cause it gets broken. |

I have this trouble too:( And I steal wait when http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90635 change state to RESOLVED.
But amarok my favorite player, and I write some small patch for taglib whose change priority of read from id3v2 to id3v1. Because 99.9% my mp3\'s have both id3v1 and id3v2 tags its work! If you need I may send this patch to you. Mail me to ggcand at aaanet dot ru |
