I was using aRts & the amaroK vsn distributed with SuSE 9.2 (KDE 3.3.0), with random mode on. I created a playlist of tracks on another machine, via smb://. Individual tracks played. but between tracks amaroK went a bit crazy, starting to launch multiple tracks (around 16) before finally settling on one to play.

I like the feel of amaroK, so I downloaded the latest 1.2beta2 & eventually got it to build.

The above problems are gone, however I now get no automatic progression from one playlist track to the next, as the previous finishes. Manually selecting next track works always. None of these problems are seen if the files are local rather than over smb://.

If however I have a playlist of smb:// tracks (regardless of random mode setting), when amaroK gets to a track end it will sit there in silence. Also, during playback the bar showing track progression never moves.
