offline media on CD

Mon Jan 10, 2005 10:59 pm
hi,
i have a very huge collection of media, and am planning to burn this to DVD-R in mp3 format. lets say one DVD containing hardrock, one with softrock, well, whatever. every dvd will also contain the cover of each album.
this saves HD space, and i am able to play whatever mood i am in ;)

OK, no big deal with this, you might say, but what happens if i rescan the collection to add new stuff? everything will be fine i assume with the first dvd, but as soon as i scan the next one, the stuff of the first one will probably be deleted from the database?

Hi,

this has been requested from various people (including myself) but it seems there is no (positive?) decision made yet. Don\'t expect it to appear in release 1.2 ;-)

Maybe it would help if all people wanting this feature could share there thoughts on how they would implement it?

Just my 2¢

Regards,
Andreas

well, it would be possible if we could scan single directorys. or define at least one (/mnt/cdrom for example) where media is just added, never removed?
