After running ./configure --enable-mysql , the top-level makefile is not generated.

Looking at the output of configure I guess this is where it goes wrong:

configure: creating ./config.status
Uhh. Malformed pattern in ./confstatVesTw6/subs.sed (s,@mysql_includes@,Usage: /usr/bin/mysql_config [OPTIONS]) at admin/config.pl line 106.

Since I love the speed increase from using MySQL over SQLlite I really don\'t want to use the SQLlite engine.

Hi,

what exactly did you do?
I just tried:
- download amarok-1.2-beta3.tar.bz2
- tar xjf amarok-1.2-beta3.tar.bz2
- cd amarok-1.2-beta3
- ./configure --enable-mysql
-> no errors

Andreas

It works after updating libmysqlclient

Maybe there should be a version check with a friendly error message in the configure script ?
