Latest version of amaroK (1.2-beta3)

Using the command line, I can get gstreamer to play a sine wave, but when I load up amaroK, I can\'t even add to the playlist while the gstreamer engine is selected. I also have problems with aRts and xine, namely amaroK crashes on selecting aRts, and xine allows amaroK to work, but the sound quality is incredibly poor (although I think that is a problem with my mangled version of xine, rather than anything else).

Any advice would be great,
