I know this is probably insulting, but do you have all the kde devel packages installed? I don\'t remember which one has arts in it, or maybe you can find a seperate arts-devel package. I\'m pretty sure that amarok compile script checks that it has the necessary headers, but I thought it might be a possible problem. Also, give more of the output can we can see more of the progress before the error.

Apparently something\'s broken with your aRts installation. Build amaroK --without-arts, and use another engine instead.

problem: you\'ve compiled arts with a different gcc version than amarok. as markey mentioned: either disable arts or pick the same gcc compilter.
