Amarok takes a very long time to scan my files

I\'m using Amarok 1.2 Beta 4.

I\'ve got almost 3000 MP3 and OGG files, and it takes several minutes for Amarok to read them all in to build my collection.

It then takes a further five minutes or so to generate a playlist by dragging everything from the treeview of the artists into the (empty) playlist.

I know I\'ve got a lot of files for it to cope with, but how come it takes so long? The other thing is Amarok goes into an uninterruptable sleep state according to \'ps\' and my entire machine becomes really slow and unresponsive - Amarok\'s window stops being repainte while this is happening.

Also, if I try and add the \"All Collection\" smart playlist into the current playlist it doesn\'t scan the meta info from the files.

Apart from this, I find Amarok\'s playlist management excellent :) The way I can filter the playlist down to certain tracks and have it randomly play through them is cool.
