Basically it\'s as the title says. Whenever I try to access an mp3 file on Amarok 1.2, the thing crashes. And this include RIGHT CLICKING on it as well, as well as trying to load mp3s.
I\'m using the gstreamer engine (But this also occurs with the arts engine), taglib 1.3.1, Amarok 1.2, KDE 3.3.2. Now what\'s going on? Thundercloud. |

Can you provide a backtrace from this crash, and possibly also debug output?
Details on obtaining backtraces can be found in our Wiki.

Actually never mind. I just updated to latest CVS snapshot and the bug\'s fixed.

Hi,
Same problem here since 1.2... I didn\'t well indentify why there was so frequent crashes, but I understood when I read this topic !! This comes indeed with mp3 files. Have you anything against mp3 ?? Please I still have some mp3s amongst my ogg !! I\'ve got the same setup as Thundercloud, and the sound engine doesn\'t change anything. Is a backtrace will still be useful since it seems to be corrected in CVS ?? It may so be good to release a new tarball with the fix... |

Same thing here.
I have an Amd64 with a Gentoo. I have tried amarok 1.2_beta2 and 1.2, but it crashes on almost any (all?) mp3, or even when I try to import mp3s\' in the collection manager... Note that I am using KDE 3.4 beta2. I\'m gonna try to recompile taglib (who knows...) David |

[/quote] Just to tell : I am listening right now an mp3 (Janis Joplin;-) with amarok (through gdb), but most of my mp3 make amarok crash. Note that almost all my mp3 have been ripped on my machine with the same tool (k3b)... David |

here I am (again!)
I have recompiled taglib and madlib (but not amarok), and it seems to work fine now! Very cool ! BTW, I\'ll tell if something goes wrong again (and i\'ll do a ugreport this time). David PS: I have just noticed that I have not mentionned the backend I use : gstreamer (since xine won\'t start (error message from amarok, then it goes back to gtreamer) and arts makes amarok crash when being selected). |

Mmmm... Recompiling taglib and madlib, even amarok then didn\'t help a lot here...
However I tried CVS version and indeed it works. So I guess the problem is now well known and fixed. Good. PS : I tried first \'lastest CVS snapshot\' but it is unusable since the admin directory is not insisde, it\'s just a broken symlink |
