Track length calculation problem

Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:36 am
Mandrake 10.1, amarok 1.2, using xine engine from cvs (about a week ago).

No biggy..

Looks like tracks (mp3s, ogg and mpc seem fine ) that aren\'t 192kbps have their length calculated wrongly.

eg track that IS 4:08, at 160kbps is displayed as 3:41. The track still plays ok, just the counter (I have mine going backwards) gets to 0:00 and stops and the seek bar hits the end and stops, music continues.

Not sure if this is an amarok or xine problem but I\'m sure someone will tell me ;)

TagLib issue. It can\'t cope with VBR encoded mp3\'s without a XING header.

Just read that again and it wasn\'t too clear, so..

The problem is with mp3s

Ogg and MPC are ok.

Files aren\'t VBR, they\'re CBR 160kbps. Could ctill be the cause of it I suppose if it\'s hard coded to expect 192.
