when i run amarok in from comand: amarok
i get this error message:
Then 15 mins or so later amarok starts up and runs but the hard drive is extreamly active and never stops working until i end amarok. any help would be appreciated. I am running v. 1.1 which came with my instilation of mandrake linux 10.1. Im thinking about uninstalling and installing 1.2 but dont know exactly how to do that. again thanks for any help. mod_a |

I found some more errors on the other desktop shell they go like this :

some nice fellow appears to have made some more recent packages for your distro - got this link from the \"Download amaroK\" link over there on the left of the page. the directory has the required dependencies as well. If you take the dive and install from source, rather than these packages, you can find excellent install help in the wiki: Wiki install section hth~ |

Do you have your $HOME on NFS? amaroK\'s SQLite database does like that, see our FAQ in the Wiki.
Also try to delete amarokrc, as there is a recursive symlink in your Collection folders, which confuses the app.
