Hi,
i am using Amarok 1.2 on Suse 9.2 Pro. It has been compiled and installed from source. I use the Xine engine. When i enable the equalizers, i get a HUGE volume drop. I have read in other places about people experiencing the same thing, but havent read of a solution yet. If it matters, all my music collection is .ogg files. What can i do to get the EQ\'s to work properly? Is it something i\'m doing wrong or something that is still being worked on? Thanks, -myk |

FWIW; I am experiencing the same problem on amaroK 1.2, compiled from source on SuSE 8.2/KDE 3.3.2. The problem seems to be related to the xine backend, which I prefer using over GStreamer or arts. The volume drop doesn\'t depend on the sound file encoding though, it\'s just the same for ogg, flac, mpc, mp3 or whatever.
With the GStreamer backend the eq works fine, but I really would like to be able to stick to just one multimedia backend system, and as xine works for both amaroK and Kaffeine, this should be it. I haven\'t found out why the volume drops; instead I hooked up my PC to my stereo system and don\'t use amaroK\'s built-in equalizer anymore. Much better sound and better equalizing functionality doing it like that! |
