Hello, dudes!
I just downloaded and compiled amarok 1.2 perfectly with the xine engine. When I started amarok the first time the wonderful first time wizard came up and I clicked through it. Everything fine, I selected the all-together-view. After I finished the wizard the windows showed up for about half a second and then I got the KDE crash manager... I deleted all the amarok related config stuff and then tried everything again with the xmms-style-view but the same crash again. That\'s what amarok gave back to me (last few lines, if you need more let me know it): [code:1] amarok: [xine-engine] \'Bringing joy to small mexican gerbils, a few weeks at a time.\' amarokapp: dl-close.c:365: _dl_close: Assertion `imap->l_type == lt_loaded || imap->l_opencount > 0\' failed. KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2 KCrash: Application Name = amarokapp path = pid = 24986 [/code:1] What shall I do? Sincerely, Felix |

This is a rare problem with the xine library which affects some users. Sorry, but we don\'t yet have a fix for this issue. You can try upgrading your xine library, which may or may not help.
But all is not lost, you can simply use amaroK with a different engine, for instance GStreamer. After rebuilding with GStreamer support start amarok like this: \"amarok --engine gst-engine\", to prevent it from loading xine.

Well the problem is that I compiled the xine lib 1 rc 8 previously... Iam going to try it with gstreamer, thank you!
