hi. i\'m using fedora 3 and my amarok crashes when I start playing.
the console says this line:
amarokapp: symbol lookup error: amarokapp: undefined symbol: _ZN12QProgressBarD2Ev

i\'m using amarok 1.2 on the gstreamer engine.

i tried deleting the amarokrc files. the next time i started up i still got the symbol lookup error after completing the wizard. after that first time this is the output:
[code:1]$ amarokapp
QLayout: Adding KToolBar/playlist_toolbar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow
Caps negotiation succeeded with 44100 Hz @ 2 channels
STARTUP
Segmentation fault
[/code:1]

any ideas?

This means there is a mismatch between your amaroK package and your Qt/KDE libraries. You could try to get a package that fits for your setup, or build from source.

i did apt-get upgrade amarok and got some Qt updates and amarok-1.2-0.1.3.kde and now everything works. :)

Fix

I\'m on FC4 and at this time I tried to install the amarok from kde-stable. But, once it installs i had the same problem.

So, I did added the kde-redhat.repo (http://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/kde-redha ... a/kde.repo) to my /etc/yum.repos.d folder.

Then did a \"yum update qt\". It updaed qt and qt-devel to version 3.3.5.

After this amarok doesn\'t have that linking error anymore.. everything works fine :)

so i guess you just have to update your QT to 3.3.5 or above.
