I have ready compile the Version 1.2.1 in my system (SuSE9.1 Prof. KDE3.3.2, Gnome2.6)
Even arts-engine was installed the only one engine working is xine-engine. Works fine.
But I am not able to hear the KDE soundsystem notification during amarok is playing. An they comming all after amarok stops play .
How I can mix the sound system with the music ?
This effect was with old Version of amarok (rpm files without xine) arts-engine possible.

either configure xine to use arts as default output plugin, or (even better) see the dmix howto in our wiki. dmix solves all the problems you could ever have.
