the amarok executable is in the /opt/kde/bin, presuming you didn\'t specify a different path for it. This directory should be in your $PATH already... well I would be surprised if it isn\'t, but I probably shouldn\'t be.

You should be able to start amaroK just by typing \'amarok\' (no capital k) at a terminal. Really what you want to do is stick it in your menu - really easy.

Pull up ~/.fluxbox/menu in an editor and have a play with it.

P.S. you can check what your $PATH is if you really need to by \'cat $PATH\' in a terminal.

I appreciate the help NoXiS. I have a couple issues after starting amaroK, that I\'m hoping you can shed some light on.

The first is an error message saying \'GStreamer is missing a registry\': Make sure you have installed all necessary plugins and run \'gsst-register\' afterwards.

The second is a message from KNotify. After the second startup of amaroK i recieved this message: \"During the previous startup, KNotify crashed while instantiating KNotify. Do you want to try again or disable aRts output?\"

I need to note also that amaroK started up with the default windows the first time I called the program from a terminal, the second time gave me the above windowed error messages and the splash screen stays displayed along with the smaller music player window. No window is displayed for browsing and adding music.

Thanks in advance for any help you or that anyone else can give me on this.
