I want to run amarok locally, but output sound on another computer. Atm, I\'m using arts for this, which works nicely with xmms (arts-plugin) and other stuff like mpg123 (using artsdsp).

However, with amarok rtsdsp does not seem to work and it wont use the arts-engine if its not running locally.

So, how to do this? :huh:

the simplest way is probably running esd and gstreamer with esdsink. unfortunately amarok crashes often when using esdsink, but ymmv.
as a workaround i run an arts server locally, which outputs to the remote esd.
