Fri Mar 18, 2005 3:26 am
Hi!
Somehow, don\'t know how, I can\'t use amarok anymore. One socket seems to be missing.. I have three different users on my computer and all the others can use amarok. How do I get that missing socket on it\'s plase? This is what I get trying to open amarok: amarok
[amaroK loader] connecting to /home/***/.kde/socket-**.**.***.***.in-addr.arpa/amarok.loader_socket
[amaroK loader] amaroK not running. Trying to start it..
amarok: [PluginManager] Plugin trader constraint: [X-KDE-amaroK-framework-version] == 3 and [X-KDE-amaroK-plugintype] == \'engine\' and [X-KDE-amaroK-name] == \'void-engine\' and [X-KDE-amaroK-rank] > 0
amarok: [PluginManager] Trying to load: libamarok_void-engine_plugin
amarok:
amarok: PluginManager Service Info:
amarok: ---------------------------

amarok: library : libamarok_void-engine_plugin
amarok: desktopEntryPath : amarok_void-engine_plugin.desktop
amarok: X-KDE-amaroK-plugintype : engine
amarok: X-KDE-amaroK-name : void-engine

amarok: X-KDE-amaroK-rank : 1

amarok: X-KDE-amaroK-framework-version: 3
amarok:

Can anyone help me?

And by the way I\'m using Mandrake 10.1 official

-little me

Looks like you are using an old amaroK version. Upgrade to the current 1.2 series, where this issue is fixed.

As a workaround you can start amaroK once with \"amarokapp\". The necessary folder will then be created.

Thanks. Installing new version of amaroK worked. I can hear the music again! Thank you, and if you are a boy: big wet kiss and a big hug... :)
