So I just downloaded the newest amaroK, and it amaroKs me pretty hard--except that audioscrobbler doesn\'t connect unless I\'m root, which I can only assume is because users can\'t use ports under 1024, and audioscrobbler uses port 80. Audioscrobbler doesn\'t have a forum for amaroK users, so I hope I came to the right place. When I\'m running it as a user, it just says that it can\'t connect; root everything\'s dandy. All of my firewalls are down and I just want to meet other Captain Beefheart users without my amarok window being red all the time--anything I can do? I\'m using mandrake 10.1 and got the rpms from the amaroK site.

Its not a port issue, since amaroK doesn\'t need to open an external port.

So, um, this makes no sense. :P

lol well put. Hmmm...where does amaroK keep its logs? Perhaps I should post some more info?

I just updated KDE and I can now connect to audioscrobbler without running amaroK as root. I also updated glibc, so if anyone\'s having similiar problems to me, just try updating.
