Hi all,
I have a strange problem with amaroK ever since upgrading to KDE 3.4. My system is Mandrake 10.1, KDE 3.4, and I\'ve tried various versions of amaroK from 1.2 upwards, both from rpm and from source. The problem is this: amaroK builds the collection - I select folders, and the meter at the bottom ticks up to 100% - but the no songs appear in the \'Collection\' tab and the Context browser shows the \'Build Collection\' button again. There\'s no helpful output in the konsole (a few taglib errors come up, but they\'re all \'Invalid sample rate\'). As I say, this only started happening after I upgraded to KDE 3.4 a few days ago, which came with version 1.2.1-1; since the problem arose I\'ve tried 1.2 and 1.2.2, but both had the same problem. AFAIK I have all the correct sqlite packages installed; amaroK didn\'t complain when comiling from source! I\'ve also tried following the MySQL how-to in an attepmt to fix it; all the commands went through fine, but again, no collection. Can anyone shed any light? I love amaroK, but it\'s practically useless without the Collection browser. Any help much appreciated! Pete |

Should have said, I use the arts-engine, though I don\'t think it\'s related to the problem as playback of files seems fine.

try:
rm -r ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok && rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc
Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.

Briliant, that worked - I\'d tried removing the rc files before, but not the whole amarok directory. Much appreciated, thanks a lot!

I have the exact same problem, but the above mentioned solution doesn\'t work.
I am using Amarok 1.2.3 and have tried MySQL as Well as SQLite, but no chance. The console output does not give any hints. What else could I try? Thanks, tragor |

I am also having this difficulty. I\'ve tried with 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 with both sqlite and MySQL, and both the xine and aKode engines.
I\'m running on Gentoo. |

Yes, forgot to mention I\'m also using Gentoo...
Maybe the ebuilds are the problem!? Meanwhile I tryed 1.2.4 too and can confirm, that upgrading doesn\'t correct this... I also think it\'s not the engine, because I use the gstreamer engine. Would be nice, to get it working though, it seems a very cool app ! tragor |

The collection scan log is at:
~/.kde/share/apps/amarok/collection_scan.log I don\'t know if it needs amaroK to be compiled with debug on or not.
