When I first started amarok, It tried to build my collection and crashed. After all, All the versions I installed did not run. When it shows logo it hold for 2-3 seconds and then disappears. I use Slackware Linux 10.1 with kernel 2.6.10 an Onboard soundCard. I use aRTs.

It happens to me the same.
I tried compiling without gstream and same thing... I\'ll investigate with the option --enable-debug=full.

dont know, but you probably shouldn\'t run amarok as root.

or anything, infact.

I moved the xine plugins to another dir and I tried again and it started after that I changed the settings of the default sound service (from oss to artsd) and closed the application. Put the xine plugins again to its place and now it opens... I didn\'t tried to listen music yet...
