Streaming with amaroK

Wed Apr 27, 2005 9:29 am
I\'m using amaroK 1.2.3 on Xandros 3. When I try to start a stream (for instance any one of the Cool Streams) I get the error message

Sorry xine 1-rc6a cannot play remote streams, please upgrade to 1-rc7

Dumb question: how do I find that upgrade to Xine? As far as Xandros is concerned everything is up to date.

Go to the xine website xine.de and download the latest package. I think the newest one is 1.0.1. Another possibility (this is more likely) is that the RPM of amarok you are using was compiled with xine 1.0rc6 . So, get the latest xine package and compile/install and then do the same for amarok. If you need to help in compiling from source let me know. I only say this in case you are a nooby. No offense intended.
