Music sorted by directory structure?

Perhaps I am a bit conservative, but I feel that it is the filesystem\'s job to keep my files in order, not the music player.

I really like this first taste of Amarok, but am wondering two things;

I have all my music sorted in directories, and I want to access them via my ordering instead of Amarok\'s Artist/Album order. Can it be done?

I mean, 70% of my music collection is in my Misc folder. Thats just miscalleneous files from various artists and albums. Amarok\'s way of sorting everything under Artist and Albums makes no sense in this case.

Second: I never want to be reffered to Amazon. Never, ever. Can I turn off that annoying feature?

I can live with Amarok grabbing covers from Amazon (even though I see no point in album covers, due to afore mentioned reasons), but opening a damn Konqueror window and taking me to the shop is just not a feature I need in a media player.

Please, tell me this can be sorted in some easy way?

I use Amarok 1.2.3 in KDE 3.4.0

Thanks in advance, for your time and effort.

well, you can sort the list just by artist if you want, or maybe in your case, using the filebrowser is better, where you get direct access to the folders (it is the bottom tab on the left side).

Unfortunately, the devs hands are tied on this one. This is an amazon policy for using their cover images. If you click on the cover, it has to take you to amazon.com. The solution is to not download any covers, and if you do, definitely don\'t click on them.

We ought to make an IMDB for music, complete with covers and lyrics. Amazon could go stuff themselves. ;-)

Thanks for the info about the filebrowser. It\'s perfect!

Another question: is there any hotkey to search, like xmms\'s j and foobar\'s F3?

Just start typing in the search box in either the collection browser or the playlist.

Don\'t want to use the mouse. The search box is not in focus all the time.
