mysql does not work

whenever i want to complie amarok with mysql support i get this error:

checking if po should be compiled... yes
configure: creating ./config.status

make does not work. i get this error with all versions of amarok.
where is the problem? thanks

You don\'t say what distro you are on or how mysql wqas installed, but do you have mysql-devel installed?

I\'m running Fedora Core 3. MySQL was installed with yum. Don\'t know which version and if the develes are installed. How do i get this? Where could I download the devels?

Edit:

I get this when i\'m trying to install some rpm\'s:


package mysql-3.23.58-16.FC3.1 (which is newer than mysql-3.23.58-13) is already installed
package mysql-bench-3.23.58-16.FC3.1 (which is newer than mysql-bench-3.23.58-13) is already installed
package mysql-devel-3.23.58-16.FC3.1 (which is newer than mysql-devel-3.23.58-13) is already installed
package MySQL-python-0.9.2-4 is already installed
package mysql-server-3.23.58-16.FC3.1 (which is newer than mysql-server-3.23.58-13) is already installed
