First, sorry for the errors in this message, I\'m french and I hope this will have a better impact here.
So, there is a big problem during the Scan collection, I\'ve read post in the forum about this problem, but nobody seems to have a solution. At about 10 minutes after the begining of the scan the memory begins to be full and the swap also. Here is the result of \'ps -aux\' after about 5 minutes baptiste 26780 16.8 4.4 67912 34668 tty1 S 14:25 19:31 amule baptiste 7090 59.7 61.1 678868 473412 tty1 Rl 15:54 15:53 amarokapp amarok uses 59.7% of the CPU ressources and 61.1% of memory, however I\'ve 768Mbytes of memory on my computer. The free comand display that free total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 774500 765840 8660 0 2460 142512 -/+ buffers/cache: 620868 153632 Swap: 257024 226600 30424 Before the execution of amarok the swap whas empty. In the scaning options I\'ve selected \'analyse recusively\' and \'check modifications on directories\'. So, how to solve this problem ? Thanks. Bouba |

Is this problem only appening to French people? I\'ve got exactly the same problem. I\'ve got more than 20Go of Mp3. When I scan the directories, I look memory usage with Gkrellm2. At the beginning, no problem. Then, at 63%, the computer starts te be very slow... very slow, I can\'t click anymore and ram and swap are FULL (gkrellm doesn\'t move anymore...). And the, after 10mins, amarok closes itself and I can use my computer again.
I suppose the scan blocks on some mp3 filenames or IDtags but I don\'t know what exactly :s I loaded some directories into the playlist and it works fine but I would like to be able to load all of my mp3! If someone could help us! THX |
