Whe I want to use GStreamer, I get the following message:

GStreamer could not create the element: adder

I have installed the following software:

gstreamer-0.8.9
gst-plugins-xvideo 0.8.8
gst-plugins-vorbis 0.8.8
gst-plugins-theora 0.8.8
gst-plugins-oss 0.8.8
gst-plugins-ogg 0.8.8
gst-plugins-mad 0.8.7
gst-plugins-libpng 0.8.8
gst-plugins-lame 0.8.8
gst-plugins-flac 0.8.8
gst-plugins-alsa 0.8.8
gst-plugins 0.8.8 (Basepack of plugins for gstreamer)

I am using Gentoo linux! Any ideas?

Use xine instead, it might Just Work.

Go to forum.gentoo.org and search for gstreamer. there you can find infos about it.

Means that your GStreamer is compiled with the wrong CFLAGS. E.g. prelinking won\'t work with GST.
