I\'m running Amarok 1.2.4 on SUSE 9.2. I\'ve upgraded to KDE 3.4.1.
I\'ve been having a similar problem since I upgraded to KDE 3.4.1 from 3.4. I had been running Amarok 1.2.4 before the KDE upgrade and it was working great with the Arts engine. I\'ve now switched to GStreamer and it seems to be working again. So, maybe try switching your audio engine. Which Amarok version, audio engine, and Linux distro do you use? I\'m interested in knowing if it\'s something with the way the new KDE is installed on my system - maybe there\'s a broken / outdated package on my system... YaST doesn\'t think so, though. |

I\'m in a similar situation. KDE 3.4 on SuSE 9.2
I cannot get the amaroK to unmark albums as compilations. It makes it hard to find tracks by artist of whom I only have a few tunes. I don\'t know if its an amaroK issue or a Suse 9.2/KDE 3.4 issue. |

@Darryl: I packed yesterday a new aRts (cause the mp3 suppor t is a bit **** since 9.3 and so on and so on.. ask google for more informations) you can find it at http://www.bit-freaks.net/arts-1.4.1-3-aplg.build1.tar.bz2 would be nice if you could tell me if it works (else I have also the kdemultimedia packages)
Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.

apachelogger: Thanks for the packages! I just installed them and re-started X/KDE and Amarok seems to be working fine now with Arts. I\'m not sure what it is, but but I\'ve found Arts to be just a little bit better than GStreamer at playing without dropping out when I\'m doing something I/O-intensive. (Maybe it\'s the size of the buffer in Arts?) So, thanks again. I\'ll keep using this over the next few days and if the original Arts problem resurfaces, I\'ll let you know.

I\'m not sure what you are telling me. Are you saying that this feature works properly for 99.99% of users? |
