Same old question.........

Wed Jul 06, 2005 12:29 am
Well, here\'s the same old question again. I tried searching the forum but there were too many results. Can someone tell me how to play MP3 and WMA files in amaroK? I\'ve got Fedora Core 3 and amaroK 1.2.4 and KDE 3.3.0-5 (KDE libraries). Please give me the EXACT place where I can get the EXACT plugins and play MP3\'s. I\'d downloaded them once before, but after that I had to reinstalled and I lost them.

Thanx in advance.

for wma files you have to install
xine-plugins
win32-codecs

and for mp3 Redhat in all their wisdom omitted MP3 support full stop

You will need a plugin called

MAD

i\'m not sure how to get them for fedora i use mandrake and we have urpmi to resolve dependancies.

I\'ve seen the FC FAQ. So, Imust install the kdemultimedia-extras package, right? Does it include WMA support, too?
