Standard habit is for me to tell Amarok to load a genre (or two), shuffle the songs & then listen until I am tired of the Genre. One of my larger genre\'s (neo-folk) has over a thousand songs in it, which I like to mix with my Classical collection (say 500 songs). This gives me a playlist of about 1500 songs, which I then hit the shuffle button and tell Amarok to play.
I typically do not reach the end of the list, which is why I hadn\'t noticed this before, but it appears to only shuffle the first 1000 or so songs. After a point, (in this case with the S\'s) it reverts to an alphabetical sort. I did the math, it appears that it stops the shuffling after 1045 songs. I am using Amarok 1.2.4 on KDE 3.3.2, GStreamer Engine set to \"osssink\" & SQLite to manage the library. PS, what I am trying to emulate is the auto-DJ from MusicMatch, which would randomly create a playlist of a specified length from the genre\'s, albums &/or artists you specify. However, I do enjoy being able to create a playlist that spans days of listening. Post edited by: nexist, at: 2005/07/14 04:57 |

Multiple \'Shuffle\' Commands appear to be working. I am unsure what caused the first partial shuffle, but if I can reproduce it, I will submit it as a bug.
