charset problem

Sun Jul 24, 2005 9:36 pm
After updating from SVN this weekend (24/07/2005 - thanks for the podcast support!), amaroK displays all id3 information in garbled text. Specifically, a lot of Asian characters and rectangles are shown present.

If I update the track information from MusicBrainz it displays fine until stopped and started again.

Are asian characters not what you want? Did you tell amaroK to re-encode id3v1 tracks (in the first panel of the configuration window).

No, I\'m in an English locale.

In trying to track this down, it turns out it was actually a bug in taglib which I updated around the same time. It\'s since been fixed and everything seems find again. Sorry to point the blame at amaroK :)

Once again, thanks for the new podcast support!
