When building a collection, the collection list remains empty. I tried all the checkboxes (\'recursive\', ...) but this does not help.
As starting folder is \'/home/ruben/mp3\' used where KAudioCreator stored all my mp3 files. Has Amarok any log files where I can chack what\'s happening I don\'t know if this is relevant but my home directory is stored on an nfs mounted drive |

debian unstable, amarok 1.3 from http://people.debian.org amarok-sarge (but when I used old amarok from unstable debian I had that same)
Amarok don\'t crash, but after \"build collection\" collection is empty, but collection_scan.log: where I had 1.2.4-1 was empty where 1.3 in collection_scan.log I had every file from my home directory -> with docs, pics etc... and collection is still empty |

I\'ve the same problem too... The collection is empty after refresh...
(Debian Sid, Amarok 1.3) someone can solve the problem? |
|
Me too!
Since upgrading to 1.3 it\'s been giving me lots of problems updating my collection- i normally have to rebuild the entire collection, but at least it worked, until now. My collection has disappeared, and won\'t reappear no matter how many times i rescan or rebuild it |

Today I\'ve upgraded to kde 3.4.2 (debian sid) and I see same strange behaviour... no collection was loaded even if the sequence to check mp3 directory starts without problem.
Starting amarok from a shell I see many warnings (tons of these) [code:1] TagLib: ID3v2.4 no longer supports the frame type TSIZ. It will be discarded from the tag. I\'m using SimplyMEPIS 3.3.1 (a Debian distro).
The problem is strange though. amarok 1.3 has always been a bit buggy but it seemed to very suddenly stop working altogether about 2 days ago. Nothing I do seems to get the collection back, even uninstalling+reinstalling. Would be good to see a fix for this or some response from the developers |
|
Another SimplyMEPIS user here. I updated to KDE 3.4.2/AmaroK 1.3 and yup, no collection for me either! Should we be blaming this on the broken state of the Debian unstable repos or is this a bug in the actual program?
If any devs have some idea on what this is likely to be that would be most appreciated. |

Here again...
Today was opened a bug report in debian official bts... Link. Same symptoms... exactly like those we have seen.... |

OK, we\'ve just solved the mystery. Problem is an incompatible or buggy SQLite library package on debian. The amaroK debian maintainer is currently working on the problem.
Hotfix would be to build amaroK from source, or switch to the MySQL database backend.

Problem solved!
Just install this to downgrade sql and it should fix it: http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2005 ... 3_i386.deb |
|
@ mike,
unfortunately not solved for me after installing the deb.amarok 1.3 with kde3.4.2 and amarok doesnt even pretend to get the collection anymore like it did before. I will compile 1.3.1 and keep you guys informed. devil |

Just downgrade sqlite or wait for the update from Debian Sid tomorrow.

Thanks! The downgrade worked perfectly solving the problem. The \"collection\" feature was broken and now it is not.

I\'m having a similar issue on Gentoo (dev-db/sqlite-3.2.7, media-sound/amarok-1.3.5); the only difference is that sometimes my collection (11903 entries, incase thats pertinent) will re-appear (usually when I close and restart amarok) but only to disappear after a few song changes. Like the others rebuilding the collection doesn\'t fix things.
I\'m building from source, being on Gentoo and all |

Hi,
so with the downgraded libsqlite3-0_3.2.2-3_i386.deb everything works fine. But when will there be a working libsqlite in the debian testing repository??? I think soon I\'ll be able to upgrade to kde 3.4 (it\'s now possible, but i would loose amarok, kaffeine, k3b ... so i have to wait until dependencies are resolved and the packages come back to debian testing). Now i have 2 problems: 1.) I use synaptic and apt command line. Both want to replace the working lib with the malfunctioning lib. So i told synaptic to hold the version i have. As far as good, but when i type apt-get upgrade in the command line, apt still wants to replace the lib!! 2.) When will debian have a good working libsqlite3-0 3.) When I\'ll be able to upgrade kde to 3.4 amarok will be updated too. So, does amarok 1.3 work with the faulty lib? |
