aRts is the only engine available for me to use, and this has been so ever since I can remember. I have been using Guru\'s RPMs to install amaroK and once I read in the FAQ that the app may need to be recompiled from source if there were engines missing, I did so.
I\'ve had no luck, even though configure notified me that the xine plugin would be usable. Liar :\\ Configure also said that gstreamer would be unavailable, even though I have the gstreamer and gstreamer-devel packages installed. Plus all the plugin packages. My system is KDE 3.4/SUSE 9.3 Any ideas? |

Did you uninstall previous instances of amaroK? Did you install amaroK to the prefix of KDE? (`kde-config --prefix`)
And Guru really doesn\'t provide packages for other engines? Post edited by: eean, at: 2005/08/09 11:34

Guru provides separate RPMs for Gstreamer/Helix/Xine/whatnot for amaroK.
I\'m using them with no probs on SUSE 9.3. I\'m using Guru\'s gstreamer and Packman\'s Xine RPMs, and recommend those are used instead of the official SUSE ones. Post edited by: HairMetalAddict, at: 2005/08/10 15:10 |
