Hi all,
I\'ve only just shifted from XMMS to Amarok. All was fine, until recently, Amarok has begun playing songs too fast. It happens abruptly, and all of a sudden, all songs are played at a high playback rate. I use the GStreamer engine, and have been cycling between alsasink/osssink/autoaudiosink/gconfaudiosink, but to no avail.. This is my first ever post on the web, for a problem i\'ve faced.. So heartfelt thanks for anyone who replies !! ) Mark |

Have you tried using the Xine engine instead? In 1.3, it\'s the most recommended engine.
I think I\'ve heard about another one having that problem with Gstreamer...

Well, I\'ve got around the problem - stopped using Amarok. I use alsaplayer now, a really great player, if you\'re using the alsa sound architecture.. It\'s simple and elegant and uses less than 10% if the memory amarok uses.. I also now have a feeling amarok was botching up my sound quality real bad.. Alsaplayer rocks !!

Alsaplayer and amaroK have totally different feature sets and purposes (in terms of music organisation). But glad you found a solution for your problem.
Just in case your music collection is growing, and you would reconsider amaroK after a while, you might want to try the Xine engine with alsa output... A lot depends on the engines you use. |
