I\'m also having a problem with the drop-down menu not showing an option for MySQL. I\'m hoping you guys can help me out.

I\'m running on FC4 x86_64.

I compiled the source (amarok-1.3.8) with the following commands:
./configure --enable-mysql --with-extra-libs=/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/lib
make
make install

The configure ends with the following summary
[code:1]
==========================
=== amaroK - PLUGINS ========================================================
==========================
=
= The following extra functionality will be included:
= + aRts-engine
= + GStreamer-engine
= + xine-engine
= + MySql support
= + Konqueror Sidebar
=
===============================================================================

Good - your configure finished. Start make now
[/code:1]

I also created the database for amarok to use, and I think it works cause I can do the following, and not get any errors. The amarok database is empty, no tables or anything:
mysql -p -u amarok
[enter password]
use amarok;

I even tried adding the following to my amarokrc files in both /usr/share and in my .kde profile:
[code:1]
[MySql]
MySqlDbName=amarok
MySqlPassword=mypassword
MySqlUser=amarok
[/code:1]

Oh, one other thing I should mention. My gcc version is blacklisted. So before I do configure, I have to do the following:

export CC=gcc32

I had to do the same similar thing for MPlayer to compile also. I don\'t know if it would make a difference or not.
