Amarok - installation

I downloaded amarok using yum. right now it doesnt even play an audio cd . when I try to it gives me the error \"Error: no engine loaded , cannot start playback\"

When I try to play an mp3 cd I get this error
The void-engine claims it cannot play MP3 files.
You may want to choose a different engine from the Configure Dialog, or examine the installation of the multimedia-framework that the current engine uses.
You may find useful information in the FAQ section of the amaroK HandBook. and below it
\"some URLS were not suitable for the playlist\"

Now when I go to configure amaroK->engines . there are 2 options : (1) no engine (2) gstreamer engine. I select gstreamer engine and I get this error

GStreamer is missing a registry.
Please make sure that you have installed all necessary GStreamer plugins (e.g. OGG and MP3), and run \'gst-register\' afterwards.
For further assistance consult the GStreamer manual, and join #gstreamer on irc.freenode.net.

and then \"Sorry, the \'gst-engine\' could not be loaded, instead we have loaded the \'void-engine\'.\"

So I used yum to look up plugins and it does and so I install gstreamer-plugins-mp3 and gstreamer-plugins and run gst-register after that . Now I run amarok and i still get the same error.

Just after using yum to install the plugins I ran gst-inspect and I got the following results

[****@Localhost ~]$ gst-inspect mp3
No such element or plugin \'mp3\'
[****@Localhost ~]$ gst-inspect ogg
No such element or plugin \'ogg\'

why arent the plugins showing up
thanks :)
