gcc problem and Fedora 4

Wed Aug 24, 2005 3:29 am
When I wanna configure amarok (1.3) I always get this error:

checking whether gcc is blacklisted... yes
configure: error:

This particular compiler version is blacklisted because it
is known to miscompile KDE. Please use a newer version, or
if that is not yet available, choose an older version.

Please do not report a bug or bother us reporting this
configure error. We know about it, and we introduced
it by intention to avoid untraceable bugs or crashes in KDE.

This problem has been solved a long time ago by the fedora community. Why is that patch not implemented yet? The patch is available here.
Am I the only one who gets problems with the gcc or why do I never read something about this problem?
Thank you

err, \"fedora\'s \'fix\'\" was to disable the blacklist... thats a bad thing.

upgrade to 4.0.1 or downgrade to 3.4

Thank you. It works with gcc 4.01. I didn\'t know that it was not a \'real\' fix by fedora.
But I get now the problem that\' /usr/lib/libxml2.la\' is missing even when all the xml2 stuff is installed (including devel).

Problem solved. Look here: http://amarok.kde.org/component/option, ... 4/catid,8/
