build rpm from tar.bz2

Fri Sep 09, 2005 9:55 pm
Hi,

I\'m trying to buil the x86_64 rpm from amarok-1.3.1.tar.bz2 but them when I try to install the rpm I get this error:

file /opt/kde3/bin/amarok_xmmswrapper2 from install of amarok-1.3.1-SuSE93.KDE34 conflicts with file from package amarok-xmms-1.2.2-5.3

I\'m new in this things of building rpm\'s and src.rpms so can anyone help me on this? How can I also build the amarok-xmms rpm and src.rpm?

Thanks guys.

If I got your rpm right, you have packed all in one rpm, not as suggested to split it up, so just uninstall amarok-xmms from 1.2.2 and install your rpm it should include the xmms wrapper

if you want to know more how to split a rpm just download the src.rpm of a \"professinal\" amaroK build and unpack it, the spec will tell you lotz of interessting things

Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.
