With amarok 1.3.0, 1.3.1 and 1.3.2svn i always get the following output:
amarok: BEGIN: void CollectionReader::readTags(const QStringList&) amarok: amaroK is crashing... Very strange! got a DCOPReplyDelayed opcode, but we were not waiting for a reply! Amarok stays at building the collection (1%) and freezes then. My system is debian testing with kde-libs and -packages from unstable. This happens with sql-lite and mysql. Do I have to wait for more stable kde-packages or can I do something with downgrading some libs? |

I was getting something similar on Fedora Core 4, and then when I just updated today and ran amarokapp from the command line I got the following output:
QLayout: Adding KToolBar/mainToolBar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow STARTUP SWFDEC: ERROR: swfdec_font.c(158): tag_func_define_font_2: langcode 0 Segmentation fault I also got the following output when I just ran amarok: amaroK: [Loader] Starting amarokapp.. amaroK: [Loader] Don\'t run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp. QLayout: Adding KToolBar/mainToolBar (child of QVBox/unnamed) to layout for PlaylistWindow/PlaylistWindow TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate. SWFDEC: ERROR: swfdec_font.c(158): tag_func_define_font_2: langcode 0 |

hi,
i had the same problem with my amarok (debian edge, testing). i tracked it down to the gstreamer plugin swfdec (swfdec.sourceforge.net). there are more possible solutions. you could try to uninstall swfdec plugin (only if you dont need it somewhere else) or run amarok using the xine-plugin. or you could pay a visit to swfdec.sourceforge.net and look for a \"proper\" solution there. i just removed swfdec because i dont need it zoitol |
