Hello!
I am using Amarok now for quite a while. Its a great program. I am using Ubuntu with gstreamer output. Anyway I do have a problem since I use linux. I bought about a half year ago an Ipod shuffle and upgraded now to 1.3.1 . When I set the mount and unmount command anyway the message that Amarok cant find the device still appears. But mounting works. I am sure of it because I unmounted the ipod shuffle first and when I press the connect button the ipod shuffle appears on the desktop and I can open the device with Nautilus and access it and read/write through gnome terminal but Amarok doesn\'t seem to find it. These are my mount / unmount commands: mount /mnt/ipod umount /mnt/ipod I also changed /etc/fstab entries for the ipod. When I create the file-system with gtkpod 0.88-1 Amarok finds the ipod and displays the tracks there seem to be upon. Anyway the ipod firmware seems not to be compatible with that kind of written database. When I try to press play on shuffle it just blinks orange / green - does not work. I ve upgraded recently to itunes 5 so I thought probably Apple would now use different information to write on their ipod. Therefore I uninstalled itunes 5 and installed the original software that came with the shuffle and just created a new filesystem on the ipod shuffle. Then I tried to mount it again with Amarok - got the same message that it cant find the device. Sorry for bothering you with it but I dont like to have to change plattform all the time just for updating my shuffle. Anybody got any clue how to make it work? greetings, ossi |

Maybe you should try to make it work with a more recent version of gtkpod.
When I have problems with amarok finding my iPod shuffle, I usually use gtkpod to clean things up. |
